Dottorato in Letteratura italiana
The doctorate in Italian Literature (Prof. Dr Gabriele Bucchi) is part of the doctoral program in Literary Studies/ Literaturwissenschaft (link). Areas of research range from the Middle Ages to the present day. The focus is not only on texts of the literary canon but also on the interaction between texts and civilization in general (material culture, society, religion) in particular in the early modern period (15th-17th centuries). Research questions are designed to probe literary representations of seemingly universal features of life as well as to examine the way anthropological and aesthetic changes are, over time, mirrored in texts. Research into the reception and dissemination of texts (especially works from antiquity and modern classics) is encouraged, as is the study of general questions concerning the relationship between literature and society. In the field of modern and contemporary literature, research on the organization of literary society (academies, literary reviews and journals) and on the development of historiographical and critical categories in Italian literary culture are welcomed. The PhD in Italian literature should be carried out on topics that allow, from a methodological or thematic point of view, an exchange with the other areas of the doctoral program. A good knowledge of the English language is necessary. Partnerships with Italian and European universities are strongly encouraged in order to acquire a more in-depth experience with different research and intellectual environments.
Dottorato in Linguistica italiana
Il dottorato in Linguistica italiana può essere svolto in uno dei seguenti ambiti: elaborazione di un modello teorico del testo scritto, con particolare attenzione all’interazione tra grammatica e testualità; caratterizzazione linguistico-comunicativa corpus-based di una delle varietà dell’italiano contemporaneo (variazione diamesica, diastratica, diafasica); analisi di strutture linguistiche morfologiche, sintattiche e interpuntive dell’italiano contemporaneo, anche in prospettiva contrastiva; analisi diacronica di strutture linguistiche morfologiche, sintattiche e interpuntive dal Cinquecento al Novecento: norma e uso; storia della grammatica e della linguistica funzionale in Europa; analisi linguistica in prospettiva didattica (L1 e L2).
Facoltativamente, il dottorato in Linguistica italiana può essere svolto all’interno della scuola dottorale internazionale Hermann Paul School of Linguistics Basel-Freiburg (HPSL).
Oltre agli incontri individuali con i direttori dei due dottorati, è offerto un seminario specifico per dottorandi, dove i partecipanti presentano e discutono con i colleghi la progressione del loro lavoro. I dottorandi hanno inoltre la possibilità di presentare a un pubblico più largo la loro ricerca nell’ambito della giornata di «Studi e ricerche», organizzata insieme dalla Sezione di Letteratura e dalla Sezione di Linguistica italiana.
